If you're interested in a simple multifunction laser printer that has all the basic features for small office and home use, then we have a great printer for you. Dell B1165NFW is a monochrome laser printer which is ideally suited for users who find themselves mostly printing heavy text based documents. The printer can only print in black and doesn't not support color printing. However, it is still capable of scanning colored documents and has all the features a small office user would really want: fast, cost effective and reliable printing with the added convenience of wireless printing. Since it is a multifunction printer, it can print, scan, copy and fax documents. The printer is wireless enabled and has a number of mobile printing features like Google Cloud Print so that users can print on the go from their smartphone or computer using Google Cloud Print enabled apps. Also, Apple's AirPrint and Dell's own app for Android devices make printing documents, web content and photos over a Wi-Fi connection very easy.
Dell B1165NFW features a matte black exterior with an adjustable grey control panel. It has a folding 40-sheet ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) on the top, with a 150 sheet input paper feed tray on the front. The pull-out control panel has a very basic LCD display and is non-touch, unlike most modern office printers. However, all the buttons are neatly organized and there is a number pad for easy fax dialling. Setting up the printer is pretty straight forward on either a wired or wireless network. Users don't even have to input the wireless network password to gain access thereby making it easy to share the printer with guests.
One of the advertised features of the Dell B1165NFW is that it is capable of fast prints with speeds of up to 21 pages per minute (ppm). But in reality, it delivers print speeds close to 12-15 ppm. Please note the printer doesn't support automatic two-sided printing. According to Trusted Reviews, the print quality is generally pretty good. Text is precise and clean. The photographic print comes out better than many other mono laser printers. However, photocopies look blotchy.
