HP Envy 4504 All-in-One printer is designed for home and home office users looking for affordable photo and document printing, with the added convenience of scan and copy tools. It is very similar to HP Officejet 4630 we have recently reviewed. However, it doesn't support sending or receiving fax. Built-in wireless networking makes printing easy from a compatible mobile phone, tablet or PC. Scanned photos and documents can be sent directly to your mobile device with the HP Printer Control app. It also has a built-in network-ready RJ-45 Ethernet port, if you don't have a wireless network. Just like HP Officejet 4630, the printer saves time and paper with automatic two-sided printing and copying. The printer supports borderless printing with a color resolution up to 4800x1200 dpi.

The HP Envy 4504 produces good quality text & graphics. The photo quality is a bit average. The printer uses one cartridge for black ink while a second cartridge combines cyan, magenta, and yellow, which means that you can't replace the individual colors when one color runs low. The whole cartridge has to be replaced when one color is finished. You can enrol in HP Instant Ink program - an ink replacement service that can save you up to 50%. The printer conserves resources and saves energy with ENERGY STAR® rating. HP Envy 4504 comes with a hi-speed USB 2.0. The printer is able to do more than just routine office tasks. With it, you can connect to HP Printables for news, fun, and coupons you can print out for great savings. The printer measures 17.5 x 4.7 x 13.2 inches and weighs 13.2 pounds.

As mentioned above, HP Envy 4504 is very similar in terms of specifications and print quality to HP Officejet 4630. It should be sufficient for home-office use or for students. However, it lacks fax functionality which may put off some users. Overall, it is an inexpensive printer that should cover your basic printing needs.
