TP-LINK TL-WR710N is primarily designed for setting up your own personal wireless hotspot for all your Wi-Fi enabled devices while travelling overseas or away from home. It features 5 different operating modes to conveniently connect to the internet in different scenarios. It can be used in scenarios like connecting to the internet when your hotel only offers a wired network connection or in places where Wi-Fi is very weak to boost the wireless signals. TL-WR710N also offers enhanced security features like WPA/WPA2 encryptions, which effectively and efficiently protects the wireless network. This is especially useful when you're connecting to an unknown wireless network (like in hotels). The router has a built-in power adapter which makes it very compact and portable. Also, the built-in USB 2.0 port can be used for connecting to storage devices or charging your smart phone. Two RJ45 ports (One interchangeable WAN/LAN port and a LAN port) allow for flexibility to work in different operating modes.
TP-LINK TL-WR710N is based on wireless N standards and operates on 2.4 GHz with speeds of upto 150 Mbps. Although it is not the fastest, as mentioned above it can function in 5 different operating modes:
* Wireless Router Mode (Default) - Creates a wireless network and shares internet connection to multiple Wi-Fi devices.

TP-LINK TL-WR710N comes with additional features like IP based bandwidth control that allows administrators to control how much bandwidth is allotted to each PC. Also, the Live Parental Controls allow parents or administrators to establish restricted access policies for children/users.
TP-LINK TL-WR710N is a great travel companion and can be used in different scenarios. With the proper plug adapter, it should work anywhere in the world. It is very similar to TP-LINK TL-WR700N which doesn't come with a USB port. We highly recommend this for people who are on the move especially with such a low price tag. However, it is not suitable for users who need a very powerful repeater or router. They should resort to a more powerful but also much more expensive 300-Mbps device.
