Acer K272HULbmiidp Widescreen LED Monitor

Acer K272HUL Highlights -

Pros: Inexpensive. VESA mount support.

Cons: Poor sound quality. Plain design.

We have recently reviewed the Acer H276HL widescreen monitor which offers great features at an affordable price. Now, Acer has taken this one step further with the introduction of the Acer K272HULbmiidp widescreen LED monitor. The main feature that stands out in this monitor is the 27 inch WQHD (Widescreen Quad High Definition) display. The monitor has a display resolution of 2560×1440 pixels in a 16:9 aspect ratio which is four times as many pixels as the 720p HDTV video standard (hence the reference: Quad HD). Apart from having a great resolution, the monitor offers 100,000,000:1 maximum contrast ratio, 6ms response time and 178/178 degree viewing angles. It should be noted that the Acer K272HULbmiidp uses an In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel technology variant known as Advanced Hyper-Viewing Angle (AHVA), which delivers accurate colors. AHVA panels are very comparable to IPS panels in practice, therefore they make a great choice for color critical applications such as photography, video editing, web design or gaming.
We are not overly impressed with the design of the monitor as it looks rather plain and has a cheap plastic feel to it. It also has a glossy-black bezel and a matching round base that may feel a bit unsteady for some users. The height of the monitor cannot be adjusted, nor it can be swiveled. However it can be tilted forwards or backwards. Acer K272HULbmiidp offers detailed image clarity with it's high 16.7 million colors and 350 Nit brightness. The monitor comes with Acer's ComfyView that reflects less ambient light to deliver vivid colors and reduced glare for more comfortable viewing. The monitor's overall picture quality, while far from the best, is above average for most users. This monitor definitely competes with alternatives that sell for hundreds of dollars more.

Acer K272HULbmiidp connectivity options include two HDMI ports, a DVI input, a DisplayPort input, and a DisplayPort output alongside an audio jack for the monitor’s built-in speakers. The sound quality is very poor so we would recommend users buy separate speakers like Bose speakers. The monitor offers five picture modes: User, Standard, Movie, Graphics and Eco. The Eco mode will help users save and conserve energy without making the screen overly dim. The monitor measures 25.2 x 9.8 x 18.2 inches and weighs 11.9 pounds.

ReviewsBucket's Verdict:
When it comes to higher resolution 27 inch monitors, the Acer K272HULbmiidp widescreen LED monitor is a bargain buy. The large screen is ideal for productivity tasks like working with large spreadsheets or comparing Word documents side by side. Just like the Acer H276HL, it will also be great for watching Blu-ray movies or playing HD games, making this model ideal for enjoying digital entertainment with family and friends. The monitor doesn't offer the best picture quality, however you won't be disappointed. It is capable of delivering accurate colors with great image clarity for a price of less than $500. We think this is a win for users looking for a low cost, high resolution monitor.
