HP Pavilion 21-h010 Highlights
Pros: Touchscreen. Decent specifications. Easy to setup.
Cons: Graphics card not suited for high-end gaming.
We love All-In-One (AIO) desktops as they look modern and offer a clutter-free work environment. To make these more affordable, many AIO desktops currently in the market lack touchscreen capability. However, HP Pavilion 21-h010 is a AIO desktop that offers touchscreen capability without costing much. It offers a good balance between features, price and functionality. Powered by an AMD processor with 4GB of memory and 1TB hard drive the HP 21-h010 features an intuitive touchscreen that makes computing interactive and fun. Also, the desktop takes very little space because of it's slim design.
Performance - HP 21-h010 is powered by AMD A4-5000 Quad Core processor. Due to the low clock speed of 1.5 GHz, the performance is quite modest. However, if all 4 cores are busy, the performance is just slightly below the clock speed of an Intel Core i3-3217U processor. In terms of power efficiency, it is on par with the Core i3 processor (see graph below - source: Tom's Hardware). For office and multimedia tasks, the AMD A4-5000 has sufficient power. However, the performance will degrade in more demanding applications and games.
Storage & Memory - The desktop comes with 4GB of DDR3 internal memory (expandable to 16GB) and 1TB hard drive (7200 RPM). The memory and storage space should be sufficient for home and home-office use. However, we would recommend getting the memory upgraded to 8GB for better multi-tasking.
Display, Graphics & Sound - HP 21-h010 comes with optical touch enabled 21.5 inch diagonal IPS widescreen full HD (1920 x 1080) LED backlit display. The touchscreen capability makes it easier to handle tasks and connect with friends and family. Also, it makes Windows 8.1 fun to work with. The integrated AMD Radeon HD 8330 Graphics offers performance which is similar to Intel HD Graphics 4000. As a result, it is not suited for playing recent games. However, less demanding games and everyday multimedia applications will run fluently. The DTS Sound+ delivers good sound quality.
Operating System - Windows 8.1.
