The ASUS VivoBook F510UA-AH51 FHD (Full High Definition) laptop is a great combination of quality performance, design, and functionality. It comes with the latest features and capabilities for today’s computing needs. Notably, ASUS has created a name in the laptop manufacturing industry for a long period. This new model incorporates some of the latest processor and display technologies and other software tools to make your computing experience awesome and fast. ASUS VivoBook F510UA-AH51 FHD Laptop is the latest version of the VivoBooks line of laptops. Being 0.8-inch thick and weighing only 3.7 pounds, this laptop is thinner and lighter than the earlier models in the same family. The body with a star gray finish mimics an aluminium construction. However, it is made of plastic but strong enough to withstand the use and misuse that comes with day-to-day activities.

Performance - The laptop is equipped with the latest of the Kaby Lake-R processors which are highly regarded due to their impeccable performance. The system pries itself of the latest 8th Generation quadcore 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5-8250U processor that can be turbo-boosted up to 3.5GHZ. This processor has a better performance than the last generations of processors and also adds some extra battery life than the previous generations of processors. With a benchmark score of 7381, the laptop is great for your everyday computing but not as good as systems such as HP Spectre 13 and Dell XPS 13 Touch. As for graphics, the VivoBook comes with an integrated UHD 620 graphics which is typical for many portable laptops in this range. When this processor is combined with dual-channel RAM, it works at the same pace at higher dedicated mid-range graphics cards. However, it is limited when it comes to the very high-end hardware intensive games. Regardless, you can still play your high-end games with medium quality settings smoothly. The same applies when playing high-end 3D games.
Storage & Memory - The VivoBook has 1TB 5400rpm of storage. It is pretty good storage although not as fast as solid-state drives (SSD) in some of the high-end devices. However, with 8GB of memory, it is pretty good in starting/booting up and overall user experience. If you really want a SSD drive then you have a choice for an additional 128GB SSD in F510UA-AH55 with all other specifications being the same.

Display and Sound - The F510UA-AH51 model boasts a 15-inch anti-glare 1920x1080 resolution screen (Full HD). It makes use of the IPS NanoEdge display that provides an improved screen to body ratio of 80 percent. Also, it uses the proprietary ASUS Splendid visual optimization technology. The color reproduction is very accurate however the screen is not the brightest we’ve seen on a budget laptop, and thus can make it difficult using the laptop outside.. The other problem is that the screen does not bend back that much due to the hinges used to connect it to the main body of the laptop. When it comes to sound, the speakers are pretty good with good volume levels that you can listen to a group of a few people without the need of an external speaker. The stereo speakers provide Dobbly quality sound and have good bass for your music needs.
Other Features - The laptop battery life is pretty good with an advertised life of about 8-10 hours. However, in real-world scenario, it will last for about 5-6 hours when not performing hardware intensive and display intensive activities. Also, the battery seems to be a bit heavier. The ergonomic chiclet keyboard has a comfortable feel and good key spacing. The letters are large enough for ease of hitting while typing. Same goes for the touchpad that has a good feel with enough area to pass your finger with ease. Due to its thinner chassis, there is a reduction in the number of USB ports on the laptop. You get one USB 3.1 (Type C port), One USB 3.0 port, 2 x USB 2.0 port, and HDMI port. The HDMI port is full size and better than the mini HDMI ports common with many ultrabooks. Also, the model has 3.5mm headset jack and an SD card reader. Using the USB 3.1 Type C connector, you can power several devices attached to your laptop. The front of its display has a webcam that gives full HD quality images and video. Unfortunately, it does not have an Ethernet port however it does have an ultra-fast internet connectivity thanks to the dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi drivers.

The ASUS VivoBook F510UA-AH51 is comparable to most premium brands but slightly cheaper than most of them. It is a nice laptop for your everyday computing needs whether at work or in school and offers premium features at a lower cost that you would get from other laptop brands. Alternately, you can go for Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-57D4 but not as nice looking or Dell XPS9560-7001SLV-PUS but much expensive.
